I have had GM ceramic pads on for 8000 or so miles. LOVE THEM ! Dusting is gone, no noise, and I do not notice any difference at all. If you race your car then I heard you would feel a difference.
They did dust a bit for the first hundred miles or so. But I fugure they were just breaking in. They are perfect now.
Try a Series of Hard Braking. I'm not kidding... just 2-3 60-20s and you'll have fade. I have the AC Delco Ceramics, and you're right on everything....
Pro's
They're quiet.
They have minimal dust.
They work well for daily driving.
They work well even when cold.
They last a long time.
They're pretty cheap.
Con's
They don't have great bite... feel a little soft
They get terrible brake fade - from just a couple hard Brakes during spirited driving.
They last Forever... (LOL I want to replace mine when they wear out... so this is a con)
My conclusion: They're a good buy for a daily driver who doesn't do much, if any, spirited driving. Or a Guy who's spirited driving includes high speed jaunts on the freeway, but no hard braking into twisties... Otherwise, get stock Z06 pads, or HPS pads, because these will disappoint. Low Dust and No Noise won't be worth it if you fly off the road... lol
I believe you are referring to AC/Delco DuraStop pads. Excellent pad I used them on my C4 after trying a couple different brands. Hands down a superior pad plus they fade a lot less then most other pads.
My comments on fade are based on the burnish period after installation. Hawk pads were pretty much fading out after 20 consecutive full stops from 0-30 mph. When I changed over to the DuraStops, at the 20th stop I had little fade and a lot of stopping power left in them. That maybe different from course driving, I don't know for certain.
Either way be sure to burnish your new pads before you use them.
