The Vette has the best MPG rating of any of the 4 cars that we own.
Same here. 4 cars and the Vette gets the best economy. I've told a few people about my Vette and several of them commented right away about how terrible the fuel economy will be. I got 30.4 MPG average driving home from St. Paul last weekend! Where do people get these misconceptions?

Well, non 'Vettefolk believe that if it goes fast, it must burn fuel like crazy. They don't realize that if you drive one like an automobile, it can get great gas mileage.

Just hope the feds don't try to enforce post-sale gas mileage requirements some day!
Imagine some time in the future when you go in for an emissions test, your car sits on a dyno and they run a test to determine MPG. Let's say the fed new car requirement is 35 MPG and the mandated post-sale requirement is 18 MPG.
Will your modded 'Vette still pass?

Any new federal requirments would be for future manufacture, and not retroactive to previously manufactured cars.

Well...my personal opinion is that I am not going to worry about what is projected for 12 years from now...there may not even be any available gasoline by then so really I am saying that I do not give a rats azz about what will be possibly happening 12 years for now
