Since there are only about 1100 vettes export each year to Canada for the C5, the used vette prices are higher than in the US due to supply and demand.

Here is my take on rare:
I have come across a few rare corvettes on Craigslist and have sent emails to the person selling the car asking why it is so rare. I give them the number of vettes made in a certian colour or a certian tranny based on their description. They come back and says well it is rare for Canadian which is sorta true since just over a 1100 vettes enter Canada every year. Most vettes end up in majhor cities and Saskatoon is not a major city so it could be called rare but I don't agree.
In 2001 there were 80 MY Z06 in Canada and in 2002 there were 65, don't have the number for 2004.
Here are some number regarding my 2001 NBM here in Canada and How I can since the car into being rare.
In 2001 there were 1125 vettes imported into Canada and of which 59 were NBM. Since I own a coupe and out the 59 NBM only 15 were NBM coupes so in Canada a NBM coupe is rare to see.
Everyone's definition of rare is different. The 83 in the museum is rare. The Torch Red C6 in the museum is rare. I'd say something would have to be single digits to be rare to me. But to someone else, any vette could be rare.

So in theory my vette is rare
Hey Todd! I agree with your statement - the car might have been rare in Canada. My point about being less than truthful were the statements about the special brakes and fuel tanks. You and I both know that part of the ad was .
Next thing he'll tell us is the c5 has 2 gas tanks or something..
Technically it does have two gas tanks, or one large tank thats split into two. You have a left tank and a right tank. Thats why you have two sending units.
In my 50 years of driving and owning Vette's there are always adds with "stuff" that never existed from the factory--or that ever existed, period. Just a typical salesman con job and way too expensive.
Shakespeare called it the “green-ey’d monster.” You know it as that powerful emotion you feel when you see your significant other talking to someone of the opposite sex or when your neighbor cruises up in the luxury car you’ve been dreaming about but could never afford. Jealousy is not only intense, but a very common emotion, even for the most self-confident of people.
There's no such thing as a rare Corvette made in the past 30 years. At most, you can break it up into coupe, vert, and fixed roof. The rest is just splitting hairs.
Toyo "Proxy" tires?? I have Toyo Proxes T1Rs on mine. Never heard of Proxy tires.
What an idiot.
Up top he says "only 600 made" and down below we're now up to 612.
