Default changing gears

i have a stock 97 a-4, just had my tranny redone and want to change gears. i have no idea what the stock gears are or what type of gears i would like to have. but i want to improve my 0-60, 0-100 times. not too concerned with top speed. dont know how this plays out in changing gears, but would like to feel more torque. dont know if people would reccoment a torque convertor also. and how much $$$ is it for someone to change gears??? help a noobie out.

If you do a "search" on this you will find the code for this in you glove box.
You probably have a 2.73 ratio rear which I think is the most common. I switched to 3.73 on my Cararo and the performance was greatly increased. You will find this mod kind of pricey and I'm sure others will chime in.
Good luck, I'm keeping my 2.73 due to the good highway mileage.

A change to 3.42s would give you a improvement, but going to 3.73 or 3.90 and the improvement will be very noticable.
