Default Change your clutch Fluid

WOW!! I just changed mine following Ranger's suggestions and boy what a difference. I dont think it had ever been changed. It's smooth as butter and shifts are much much faster. Almost like a new car. My Z06 has 42k on her what other fluids should I change soon?

What fluids to change? All of them, yearly.

Yearly? Any instructions to changing manual tranny fluid or rear end fluids.

I tried to change out my clutch fluid a while back. Pumping the clutch didn't do anything to mix up the fluid. After driving for 5-10 minutes after I thought I had made progress, it was dark again Is there a trick to this or is my fluid just that bad?

I felt as though my shifting was smoother after a fluid change too!

Did you replace the cap snugly every time? IT took be about an hour to do this but i pumped 20-30 times for about 15 refills

Mine was turning an amber color @ 5,600 miles, but I didn't want to wait until it turned black. I used Ranger's method to remove the old fluid and used regular Dot 3 brake fluid for the cleansing procedure.
I changed it maybe three times and pumped about 30 times in between. It stayed clear. I removed it one more time and filled with synthetic fluid for the final time. After 500+ miles, it's still clear.

I tried with the cap on and off. I went through 2 bottles of DOT4 and it was still dark, just not as dark.

You just gotta keep on changing it over and over, and eventually you'll get to where it stays clear!!

I think it took about ~40 times before mine stayed clear. I ususally change it every other month now.

great write up, I currently have no issues, but I'm going to take your advise anyway. Having no issues does that mean I'm driving her hard enough?

Changed my clutch fluid last summer - sure made a difference in the clutch feel.

Don't know what year your car is, but you might want to consider changing the coolant if you haven't already done so.

Default Change your clutch Fluid

Hi Nick,
Sounds like you had fun changing the clutch fluid.I to noticed a smoother shift.Remember to throw the un-used fluid bottles away.Next item I would do is bleed all the brakes. You & a friend can do this at home or have a power flush done at the dealer. If you need detailed info for the home e-mail me.
Have a good day.
