Just got these Carbon Fiber Covers installed today and am contemplating more. Do I get the Fender Covers as well as the Tank Covers? Or do I go with the Stainless Steel Fender Covers and the Carbon Fiber Tank Covers? I am getting the Tanks in the Carbon Fiber though. That's a given. I am thinking that all the Carbon would be to much. Or, maybe just leave it the way it is now. What do you think? Got the Brake & Radiator Covers from RPI today.

An ACE member here in Phoenix told me about that after I bought it. I will be doing that as it might start warming up one of these days. Not that it gets really cold here anyway. But non the less, I will be watching it. I have had a 160 stat and tune done so maybe that will help keep it where it needs to be. Thanks for the heads up.

I mixed up my carbon fiber parts with some alumunized carbon fiber parts and red FRC's. Don't really have any pictures of it all together as I was getting the car ready for the body shop. Too much of any one color does not look good in my opinion.

Here's a quick picture. The side fenders and brake booster are aluminized Carbon Fiber (Silver). The tanks, battery cover and fuse box are black carbon fiber with red FRC's and Intake.

You'll have to use you imagination.

IMO go with some shiny stuff for accent! Chromed stuff doesn't scratch as easy as stainless stuff!

If you want some shiny stuff under the hood, go with chrome. Much easier to keep looking good. That said, I do think that adding more CF pieces will look OK.

The CF tanks would look fine with the other stuff you have.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I am going with the tank covers the same as the other stuff and will get something different for the fenders. I will wait to see what you have for pics before I commit to anything.

my opinion would be to use the carbon fiber as accent pieces like you have and go with color or chrome/SS on the rest. Looking very nice

Sorry I could not get better pics for you, but my car is in the body shop so I used my bro's 99 FRC that's up on my lift getting a drive train, suspension, brakes, etc overhaul.

I had my tanks, battery cover and fuse box done with that hyro carbon over lay by "flasunshine1", it came out real well.

Hope that helps ya.

Beautiful engine pieces you have there Mark.

I'm working almost identical to the theme you have.
I'm probably going with gloss black for the coolant
and washer covers and then just leave the fender
covers and intake carbon fiber.

Once again, beautiful engine thanks for posting the pics

Default My 2 cents

Mark.....boy the underhood of that thing looks tons different than the last time I saw it. I am Dan's son-in-law and had the pleasure of looking the car over right after you bought it.

I like the carbon-fiber intake, the parts really look sharp. I would say paint your tanks and get a CF battery den cover. Ties in the FRC's that way and you still get a little more CF from the den cover. The fender covers in CF would look slick as well.

Dan has CF on his 97 and I have always thought it was a subtle sharpness that I liked. Chrome underhood bits on a c5 is a bit much for me.

Hope you are enjoying the car...nice rare color and as I recall you sure bought it right!!!

Marc

Hey Marc,
Wow, never thought I would actually get to talk to someone from my home town on here!!! All 1300 people of you!! Thanks for your comments on the car. It does look 100% better then when I got it. I actually got the idea for the Carbon Fiber stuff from Dan's car. Your car looks pretty sweet as well. I love that color. I always have to explain that this car is a FACTORY COLOR, not a repaint when someone asks about it. I took it to the strip on Sunday just to see what she has. Didn't do to bad for being stock. Ran a 13.6 @ 105.7. It was my very first time doing that. Never raced at a track before. Reaction time needs some work though. I won't tell you what it was on here. I think I'll be going back for more. It was fun. Do you all still meet in Hooper (when the weather permits) at the Office on Thursday nights? If so, tell everyone Hi for us. You can tell Mom and Dad Hi as well from me if you see them. They won't understand where you got it from. Good hearing from ya. How's the vintage dragster running?

I think it looks awesome as is. Sometimes some people don't realize that sometimes it gets to the point where it is too much. After all we all know that too much is sometimes tacky

Where did you find those fender covers with the logo on them at? Look really good.

I know that's not what you were talking about, but I have to wait for the youngest to Graduate this May before I can afford one of those!!!
