i bought a lingenfelter built c5 back in nov. the former owner did quite a bit of road racing in the car. he had qa1's on the car i bought and his other full race car was a drm500 w/ coil overs. he said that the qa1's were a close second to the 3500 coil overs. in the summer i plan on softening up the car a bit. he has the settings on kill, you feel every single rock, twig, pebbal..everything.. it is a bit too commited of a feel for road use. but that being said to soften up the ride all you need to do is turn the **** at the bottom of the shock. i guess it depends on what you plan on doing with the car...if you want a better ride and dont want to shell out 1k for the qa1's i would call gene and order the z06 shocks/ sway bars/links. i did this for my 2k frc and the handling improved 100%.
I love my QA1's...I do wish i had the double adjustable which were not available when i bought mine a few years ago, (think its only for the rear or the fronts, cant remember which) because at the stiffer settings you really run out of dampining and the car sort of bounces, but I do a few track days and the settings at around 7/6 work great at NHIS and for daily driving im set at 4/3 even 3/2 at times and the car is nice and soft even here on crap boston area roads, even with Z06 swaybars and Z06 springs.....they are pricy but worth the money, and they are rebuildable also....
Really like them. Setting 5 on the rear and 4 on the front. Great road feel. No lean in tight corners. Don't track the car but like the way they feel during "spirited driving"!!!
