Default Nav Systems?

I have a 2003 C5 w/out Navigation. I want to add a Nav system from a 04 Caddy. The caddy also has a bose system. Will the Caddy Nav system be compatible with the C5 bose system? I know that the C5 has space for a din and a half unit however there is a solution for that. Some one had modified the radio bezel on the C5 to make the double din Nav fit. I saw it in the forum but I can't find it again. Could you repost it or e-mail it to Robertssb@aol.com.
But the ? at hand is will the bose nav system be compatible with the 03 C5 Bose system? If so this would be easier and cheaper and look factory. Putting in some other systems would cause you to loose some aspects of your bose system,i.e. subwoofers, and you would need a wire harness adapter for your bose. There shouldn,t be a need for a bose to bose adapter. Does anyone know? Thanks

Hi Bruce -

Head over to the audio/electronic forum and search for double din, Avic, nav, etc... lots of people have done some pretty wild and creative mods to get in-dash nav. you'll find lots of threads and pics.

As for the Caddy system, I highly doubt it would be an easy job -- I'm guessing with all the integrated elements you'd just be better off using an aftermarket HU. I think there's been discussion about usng a C6 nav HU, and even that was shot down because of the complexities and differences.

Good luck.

Rich
