Maybe it needs to be adjusted, or you need a new one. If you need a new one, check out Centerforce. I've had mine for over two years now with many 1/4 mile runs w/ over 550 rwhp and it still feels and performs like new. While your at it check out a Fidanza flywheel as well. It's cheaper to get them done together.
**This is only if you need a new clutch ofcourse** I would have a shop take a look at it.

I did a couple of burnouts well over a month ago. I slipped the clutch a bit too much on a 2nd gear burnout, and it apparently glazed the clutch pretty bad plus I had the soft pedal syndrome. To this day, the pedal still has a weird feel to it at times. It feels a bit loose and soft during the first 2 inches of pedal travel. If I pump the pedal a lot, sometimes that helps. The burned clutch smell is finally going away (yes it took over a month for the smell to go away). I've changed the fluid many times as per Ranger's instructions. Soon I'll get under the car and take off the clutch inspection plate to check it out. I'm guessing there's something wrong with the slave cylinder or it still has really bad fluid in it. The pedal used to feel fine until that night back in January when I slipped clutch too much.

So check your fluid, change it out following the Ranger protocol (search on the forum), and if that doesn't fix it, get underneath and inspect the clutch. Good luck!

Burnouts are a lot of fun but come at a cost!! I've been following the "Ranger protocol" since I bought it, DOT 4 only(do the brakes at least once a year.)

Here is a silly but related question.

Where should the clutch be engaging? At the very top when you let your foot off it?
