Wash Car Cover?
Hi All...
My C5 came with a custom-fit Wolf Car cover. Since I didn't buy it, I really don't know the details on what it's made of and/or if there are any specific care instructions. It's getting to be a little dirty; I was wondering if it's safe to throw it into a big laundromat washer and dryer for a good spring cleaning. Any reason not to do that?
Also, for what it's worth, I only use the cover while the car is in the garage, so I'm not terribly worried about sun/rain/snow protection.

When I had a CoverKing car cover, I washed it at a laundromat and dried it in one of their dryers on low heat. Didn't seem to hurt the cover, but I only used it while the car was in the garage too.
Try sending an e-mail to the manufacturer and ask them that question.

I emailed Wolf and got a quick reply (kudos to them!)
Here's their instructions for washing a Noah-type cover:
Car Cover Cleaning Instructions:
-Hand wash only
-Use a mixture of 2 gallons of water to 12 oz. of an all purpose cleaner like Fantastick
-Clean soiled area using a soft cloth
-Rinse with cool water and allow to dry
-Rinse both inside and outside of cover with hose to remove dust
-Put back on car to dry

Landuramat, hand wash a car cover it was enough of a pain to stick it in the machine. did mine in the machine and no problems. Now if you washed it weekly it may fall apart, but once in awhile no big deal.

I can wash and dry mine in our home machines. It'll also fold down compact enough to fit into one of the small cubby holes in the rear. The new space age materials available now are great for dust/moisture protection and light in weight and bulk. Four year warranty and availability of colors is a bonus.
