Planning a road trip to the midwest and south. Question is, would I be stopped because of my tints? Has anyone here drove across the country and got stopped because of your tints? Could I just show my out of state registration and be on my way? Thanks!
you will not get pulled over if you are out of state. You should'nt need your registation they can see yor license plate
I know for a fact different counties in michigan enforce the tint and some dont just because you have a out of state liscense plate doesnt mean you will not get a ticket
All of where I've traveled they don't enforce a tint law from another state. Just bring all your info with you (reg, license, etc.) and be kind if you do get pulled over. But I wouldn't worry about tint. If you do get pulled over and are worried about it then roll the windows down all the way when you get stopped. If the officer hasn't pulled you over for the tint then maybe out of sight will be out of time. I've done that before with tinted cars and was fine.
I do remember traveling from NY to Maine. I was literally about 10 miles form the border to be outside of NY when I was pulled over for my tint (while living in NY). The officer gave me a ticket for something else and let me off with the tint. I was just so pissed though. Another 10 miles and would have been in the clear.
sweet, might see you in town ! its awesome out there
Was there exactly a year ago with my bro when he picked up his LBM C6 Z06(traded it in three weeks later for a Ron Fellows ). It was fun driving in the snow from Nashville last year. Stayed at the Holiday Inn. Now, are you a Crystal or White Castle fan? Reason for the trip, bro is set to get the ZR1 and going to do museum delivery again. I will be there to enjoy the scenery and excitement of the factory and do some shopping at the gift shop, again!

lol well, I am a castle fan. hope everything goes well !! snow can be good...and as we all know, can be bad as well. travel safe !
it sucks but even if your just passing through a state you have to abide by there states laws! i was going on a road trip years back and i cut through OR and i had dark tint on an old 84 z28. i got pulled over and tried to pull the old its ok back home.his excact words were your in my state now!
I have never heard of an officer enforcing a state traffic law that applies in their state but not in the state the car is from, especially if you are just passing through. You may get stopped but just tell them you are on vacation, they may stop you just to ensure you didn't just move into the state.
I live about five miles from the Oklahoma border, and about fifty from the Texas border, and you will see cars from OK and TX here in town with some seriously dark tint every day. I think that as long as the vehicle isn't titled here in Kansas, or the state you are traveling in, they are ok, but once they are registered within the state, they must be 35% legal tint.
They may stop you to see if you recently moved to their state, but they won't ticket you for not abiding by their state rules about tint. However if the maximum speed limit is higher in your state, don't assume the same rules will apply.
