I would keep checking on Ebay. You can always purchase one from your local dealer's part's department. You can also purchase one from Fichtner Chevrolet or Gene Culley.

Thanks but that is too much for a fob that may not even be bad. I've heard this is a common problem with early C5s and could be the reciever that has a problem.
It always strikes me as funny when someone posts a question about an item for their car and doesn't post the year. I guess they expect whoever is trying to help them to look up their profile.
The second thing that is funny is when others post answers based on the wrong year car.
The link posted isn't $19 for the 99 remote, it's $89 plus shipping. If you buy a remote for a 97 to 2000 Vette, you're going to pay anywhere from $70 to $120. For a 2001 and up, you can buy them on ebay all day for around $10 to $15. The two are not interchangeable. If you want one specific to the 2000, (without the passive switch) be prepared to pay more. The 2000 will work on the 97-99 (with no passive switch), and the 97-99 will work on the 2000, but without passive feature.

The year of the car is in my sig. LOL
Another member said it was the reciever in the door not the Fob so I'm not buying $70-100 fob w/o being sure it's my problem, $10-20 maybe...

I don't see the year of your car anywhere without clicking on your profile. If you're asking for a 99, mention it in the question, otherwise you'll get answers like you got. There is no receiver in the door. It's behind the seat, and it costs more than the fob. You're cheapest bet is to borrow someone's 97-2000 fob and program it to your car and eliminate the receiver. The fob is MANY times more likely to be the problem, specially on the older cars. They were famous for failing. The $10-$20 fobs won't work on your car, so forget that option.

Anyone know where I can get a new Fob? I couldn't find one on fleabay so if you could provide a link that would be super. TIA
Here's a copy and paste of everything showing in your original post.
