I have my 00 vert apart and ready for paint, so with front bumper cover off I want to replace my fog lights- they are pitted , chipped, etc.
I saw how much $ oem replacement are so I ordered the PIAA 1100 series replacements from a vendor here.
They do not just bolt in. What are you all doing to get them to work.
I really don't want to cut the electrical harness, but it's not the problem..
The OEM has 2 screws , 1 each side to hold it into the bracket which also contains the adjuster screw/spring assembly..
I thought about trying to just get out front bulb part and putting in the
PIAA bulb, but can't get the plastic housing parts apart.
Thanks!

JDM, I read your post on your hid's.. look great, but the reason
I went to PIAA is that my oem fogs are in horrible shape.. chips, scratches etc..
To buy new oem foglights is over $100 per side--OUCH
So I bought the PIAA's a couple months or more back to put \
in their place.. Just want to get these working..
well i'm pretty sure you can modify the OEM fog mounting brackets to fit the PIAAs. have you already tried this? i thought that it is possible, but i haven't had to do it before.
I'm using Helle Micro DE. They have the same pattern as the OEM fogs and will fit in the stock brackets. I really like the projector style with cutoff shield and excellent optics. You can grab a set from ebay for ~150 shipped.
I'm currently running these light with 6000K H3C HID bulbs and they're brighter than most headlights....even behind a ZO6 grille.
Before I was running 3500K H3 HID fogs in the Same Hella Housings.

Here's a picture of the PIAA's mounted, when you have a Tiger Shark kit. The bracket that mounts to the car is supplied with the kit and the other bracket is the original (OEM) .
The PIAA's mount to the factory bracket just fine as seen below using the supplied hardware that comes with them:
For the wiring, I cut off the PIAA switch, and put a terminal pin on the end of the signal wire and plugged that into the factory harness connector on the passenger side (closest side to all the PIAA wiring so I could cleanly route and hide the wiring), then taped everything up and tucked it away as seen below:
My PIAA 1100X lights are now controlled by my factory fog light switch with my factory harness being 100% intact. And they're freaking bright too!
The Piaa's are a great improvement and will bolt directly to the factory brackets without modification. Follow the included instructions and use the OEM fog light connections to trigger the relay as shown in the above post. No cutting no muss or fuss. it will look stock and can be returned to stock if necessary.

Too late now, but the same fog lights, minus the Chevy bracket are often available on ebay for under 20 a set.......search Blazer fog lights. The OEM fogs are made by Blazer International.
The exact same housing, lens (removable). I bought a set for $18 shipped
