Default Does the 2000 Have a Different Cam?

I thought I read or heard somewhere, that because the 2000 is the only year that used Pup Cats, a different Cam was also used (emissions related?). Any truth to this? Thanks

Not sure if my 00 had, but my 01 has pups.
I thought the 00 had the highest lift cam or something like that?

Here's the rest of the 00 differences;

• Millennium Yellow available
• ? "Thin Spoke" versus "wagon wheel" design wheels become standard.
• Pup cats added to CA models for LEV emissions requirements (5hp loss relative to 97-99)
• Steel swaybar endlinks instead of plastic on Z51 equipped cars
• Z51 swaybar diameters grow (25.4/21.7 to 28.6/21.7 to 28.6/23.6 (note: new rear same as Z06)
• No keyhole on passenger side doorhandle
• Passenger airbag 'off' switch added to console (light by TC/AH button)

Thank you for posting this. Very interesting. When Oklahoma sold me his 2000 C5 in 2006 he told me it had the biggest cam, but I didn't know the numbers. Woo Hoo!

Was the passenger airbag 'off' switch an option? My 2000 doesn't have that.....

I live in upstate New York. Ordered my 2000 new. It came with the pup cats.

Was the passenger airbag 'off' switch an option? My 2000 doesn't have that.....

The cut off switch came later in the model run year. Mine was a late build and came equipped with it.

I have seen Pitt's C5 in person... what he says is true.

NYS follows "CA emissions", which explains the pup cats.

I already knew the answer buddy. I have my 2000 since last 7 years or so. Only 1999 and 2000 that had pup cats were the cars intended for CA.
