Ive already taken on a tuned Murcielago making 615hp and we were even. It was a friend of mine too so I know he knows how to drive also.

You need to check out his signature so you can see his "stock" Vette.

The good old tried and true C5Z still murders everything else, but the C6Z.

Interesting thread! Now the most important for me (I´m not dragracing);
Comparing a C5 MN6 (non Z06) and a 2005 - 2007 C6 (LS2), also with manual tranny: how much faster does the C6 FEEL?

I own the C5 for about 8 months now, and in 3 or 4 years, will a C6 LS2 really FEEL like a BIG improvement, accelerationwise?

Or do I have to upgrade to a 2008 C6, or even a 2006 or 2007 C6Z??

For clarification: I live in Germany, so I´m also (especially?) interested in the acceleration from 60 mph up...?

Cheers, Bernd

I'd go with nothing less than an '08 and then get it tuned. The C7 will come with even more power so it's always better to start with more. The 05-07 LS2 will quickly become the forgotten years.

You can really feel the difference in 2nd-5th gear. More torque and power.

Well, I personally know that a stock 97 C5 with only cat backs can beat a C6 vert. Watch this

My cats are cleverly disguised as 3" stainless tubing. I haven't been able to clog them yet.

Anyways, my point merely addressed your comment about a supercharged C5 being able to beat a C6, but not a C6 Z06. I guess I should have been more clear, and simply asked why you feel a (typical) 550-600rwhp blown C5 cannot beat a 450rwhp C6 Z?

Have you driven a C6? I have never driven a C5 Z but I can tell you there is a world of difference between the stock C5 and C6. I still think the C5Z and stock C6 is a close race depending on the driver.

Amen Brother

When my "modded" car can beat another car that cost 3 TIMES AS MUCH, you do have a right to brag. Not Everyone knows how to mod, just how to buy power. I LOVE the C6ZO6, and would love to have one if I could afford one, but in the mean time my C5 can hand them their A _ _ if it comes to it and I'm darn proud of it.
