Just got done painting one of my HD's flat black and got thinking....my torch red coupe has a glass top only and I need a painted one to block the sun so how about painting the glass top flat black? Anyone done this? I figure if it doesn't look good I can always paint it red. Plus, I like the flat black butt look so go flat black on the top, butt and maybe some black wheels. What do you all think?

Don't think I would paint the glass top unless there are some cosmetic problems with it right now. Why not buy a used solid top and if needed paint it, then sell the glass top to offset the cost.

The top has some scratches in it. Looks like it rubbed up against something. Plus it's crazed pretty badly. I have been looking to buy a replacement top but haven't found any yet. Did find one on fleebay that sold for $280 but someone else got it. Then I got a bunch of scam second chance offers so gave up for a while. I don't drive the car much so I don't think about it and it hasn't been a high priority. Just wondered about the flat black thing.
Crazing looks like a bunch of little cracks. I think it's from too much sun. You can't see it from the outside but if you look up from the inside you can see it. I'll take a picture tomorrow (if it's not raining) and try to post it (or a link to it).
