If you are talking about the A&A mod, then no.
I have it with no cats and headers. When I get on it or when I'm accelerating from a stop its almost as loud as my bullets were, but once you settle in and cruise and your rpms drop it's very quiet.
Sorry, but the by-pass mod sounds like a motor boat. A stock Ti exhaust has more than enough volume at WOT,
the by-pass mod just ruins a perfect Ti system. Making a car louder is not making it any faster.
Yes, it is a welding project, the bypass pipe has to be welded into the properly cut piping. From what I've heard, finding someone to weld Ti isn't the problem, the problem is finding someone who knows how to weld it properly so that it won't fall apart.
I have the A&A mod done on the regular C5 exhaust with no drone whatsoever! This is my main reason for not getting an aftermarket catback, that and the fact that I love the sound.
Though I do get a faint rattle sound at 1,400- 1,600 rpm that I can only hear with the windows down and the sound bounces off a nearby object. The sound is not a metal on metal sound, just something particular to the A&A mod as I've heard it on others' cars when they post videos.
I'm hoping my shorty headers will rid me of that rattling sound. Of course when driving the car with the windows up, I can't hear that rattle at all and the entire exhaust sounds FANTASTIC!!
