Page 5-64 of the owners manual:

1. Set the parking brake firmly.

Yo GM.....

If the friggin parking brake worked I wouldn't be "lifting" my Corvette now would I?

My parking brake actually works pretty good now that I adjusted it. It didn't work well at all before, I don't think it ever did.

Have a bad habit of cutting the steering wheel and grabing a handful of parking brake, it makes me feel funny. Only on empty parking lots though.

On my '99, the parking brake never worked from the factory. Long ago, I took it to the dealer when it was still under warranty and they replaced everything and it still didn't work. Per their word, they adjusted everything per the manual. So after years of a non-functional parking brake, I got in there myself. I adjusted it using old-school methods and its worked just fine ever since.

Mine was holding fine when I left it cold and running. Something about it warming up let 'er roll on down the driveway backwards.

That's the process I just started. The jacking points on a C5 certainly aren't very Kwik Lift friendly.

My parking brake has a mind of its own. I can never tell when its going to hold and when it isn't. So I always just curb my wheels and put the trans in Reverse

No curb's on a Kwik Lift which is where it's normally parked while in the garage. Makes it tough to have the engine running in neutral with no parking brake.

The back end of the ramp is normally on the ground with the front elevated.
