I've been using the Deltran Battery Tender Plus 12V @ 1.25A. The Battery Tender Plus is a 1.25 amp battery charger designed to fully charge a battery and maintain it at proper storage voltage without the damaging effects caused by trickle chargers.
Included is a quick connect harness for hard to reach areas. Temperature compensated to ensure optimum charge voltage according to ambient temperature. Automatically switches from full charge to float charging mode. I leave it on all the time throughout winter.
Reverse Polarity Protection to ensure user safety - Red & Green Lights Alternately Flash in this condition. Complete 4-step charging program (Initialization, Bulk Charge, Absorption Mode, Float Mode). 10 year Warranty. However, if this fails - I'll try the CTEK MULTI XS 3300.

I bought an OPTIMA red top in 1995 for my frame off modified '55 Chevrolet 210 sedan. The car was strictly for car shows in the valley and when we moved up north. I kept it on a BATTERY TENDER PLUS.
That same battery was still working seven years later when I sold the car to a collector in CA. Two years later, he told me the same battery was still in the car.
Now granted, a '55 Chevrolet doesn't have the same electronics as a C5 Corvette, but that impressed me...
Used the $17.00 Black and Decker float charger (2 amps) from Wallmart on all my cars that sit a while during the winter. Works great. Original 03 Z06 GM battery still works. Hope I did not jinx it............
