I'm looking at buying a C5 vert with EMTs (run flats). I'm used to a ZO6 without them. I know the regular C5 EMTs (tires and wheels) have tire pressure sensors. What needs to be done when changing from run flats to regular tires (besides buying a ZO6 tire repair kit)? Does the DIC / computer get bad information when the sensors are removed? Can the sensors simply be removed? Does anything in particular need to be done to the computer once the wheel sensors are removed? Sorry about all the dumb questions!
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I am changing rims and going to all C6 ZO6 chrome wheels. Does that change the information in all the replies? I don't know where or how the wheel sensors attach.
Thanks in advance!

I went with non-runflats last summer. According to my research, my computer would not be able to be flashed to stop showing a message about the TPMS (my car is a 2000). That being said, I believe the warning only comes up when starting the car and can be reset each time using the buttons on the DIC.
After I thought about it, I ordered new sensors (so the batteries would be fresh) and had them placed in my non-runflats. That way, my first indication of a leak will come early and maybe give me enough time to get somewhere or at least off the road without too much damage. I didn't want my first indication of trouble to be when the tire was actually flat and I started feeling it in the car.
The sensors are perhaps even more critical with regular tires.
In pre 2001 you cannot turn the sensors off.
In 2001 and newer you can turn off the sensors.

and on the 01 and newer cars, you can just hit the reset button on the DIC and go own down the road until you get around to getting the programed off.
You can mount a sensor in any wheel, and they can be used with any tire.
If you like the ability to read your tire pressures, and don't like resetting dash warnings every time you start the car, then simply put the sensors in the new wheels.
