I have the same question, after washing my car I get water standing on the door sills. would the seal stop this or just trap the water more?

I have seals like that on my Camaro doors. They were stock on those cars. I don't like them at all. They are fairly stiff and rub the paint in the jamb every time you open and close a door. The seals have done more damage to the paint than good. I'd say stay away.

I have it. It still gets wet on the sill when I wash it. It would probably keep out road rain water, but I don't drive much in the rain. Not sure If I would do again?

I have them on my car. They keep the water out pretty well, but only off the upper portion of the door sill (where the sill cover is). Water still gets on the lower portion.

Unless you are a daily driver or really really hate getting the water in there during car washes, no need. Mine's a daily so it helps make sure I don't drag pants legs through dirt/grime.

I have them and they do what they were designed to do which is keep the dirt and water from getting in at the bottom of the door. But you have a drain area around the hatch/trunk near the rear of the seats that drains into the door sill area so it will still get dirty and wet.

I wouldn't think you'd need an extra one if you don't intentionally drive in inclement weather. Of coarse, the one time that you get stuck in a toad choker you might wish you had one.
I don't get any water on my door sills by washing my car in the manner I do. I don't drive my car if there's a cloud in the sky, so the chances of getting stuck in that toad choker are non existent.
It's my car to do with as I please.

I tried them a long time ago, they didn't seem to do anything so I returned them! I thought they were a waste. Just my $.02

My 02 Coupe is my daily driver. I have always got dirt and water on the lower sill and find myself cleaning the car alot. I got a set of the rubber seals from Eckler's for Christmas. I very carefully followed their instructions and even blew up the photo they had on their website to make absolutely sure I was installing it correctly. They've been on now for two months - they don't do anything to keep the sill clean. Save your $24 for something else that's actually useful, like a 1/4 tank of gas.
