I don't know what the outcome was, but I'm pretty sure somebody whent to the hospital with a few broken limbs. I don't think that would have cused a death, or so I hope.

Taken to the hospital for observation, no broker bones or anything.....

This was shot at the 99 or 2000 Labor Day event...

I don't know much about autocross, but you'd think in a sport where automobiles were running about, there wouldn't be people all over. Not only the spectators but also on the track, as shown in that video.

Yeah, I'd guess. I always thought it was amazing seeing clips of motorsport racing in the old days with guys right there on the track with their flags and such. Even modern day drag racing still seems to have guys standing around in precarious positions.

That's why my favorite view is from my La-Z-Boy.

Course workers always need to be of where cars will potentially run off course and also stay aware of the car on course and be ready to move quickly when it starts to get squirrelly. A car that is going just 30 mph is going to cover 44 ft in one second so you don't have much time to move if you are caught flat footed.

Still, I think I'll keep my day job, thanks. I wonder why anyone would want to be a course worker. Hope the pay's worth it.
