I bought the OEM GM bra last year for road trips. Wax it heavy before putting it on and clean inside of bra with brush after I take it off. I don't leave it on all the time, just on long trips. So far, no problem with either the bra or paint and I'm real picky.
My GM Bra works great.
If I were you, I'd ask my paint guy how long you should wait to let the new paint 'cure' before you install and use a Bra.
Cheap, fits awesome, and good for road trips! GM Bra.
The original owner of my car used the GM bra. When I bought the car the paint on the hood and nose had to be extensively buffed to remove minor marring of the clear coat. While he cared for the rest of the car beautifully, he neglected to follow the required care for the bra and paint.
I had a long-winded experience to share, but I'll stop short and just say buy a car bra that fits tight and be very **** about caring for it.
Also, if the nose of your car is being repainted. DO NOT install the bra until the paint has had a substantial amount of time to cure. Been there done that on a previous vehicle -- and the paint had cured for 3 summer months too!
