Now is the opportunity to get a free upgrade. Get your rock chips fixed too. I probably would had to wait until I got out of jail first. He hadn't seen rude like I would've gotten! If that fascia is cracked, you'll want it replaced like a previous poster stated. Those cracks will show up again, guaranteed.
It pains me to see this pic on Dark Bowling Green Metallic. (or any color Vette) Hope you get it fixed to your satisfaction. I'd say if you were only "rude" they got off lucky. A punch in the face might have been more of my reaction.
Low profile vehicle and higher profile vehicle driven by unobservant driver...an accident. How close was your Corvette to the mini van?
Unfortunate, yes. Anyone would be upset with the thought of having to deal with insurance and loss of ones pride and joy. You'll get it fixed.
Some replies of parking lot rage are simply amazing.
Parking lots are private property...state laws usually don't authorize a LEO to enforce motor vehicle law except in cases of DUI, Hit & Run involving personal injury or death. There's a reason for that.
It could have been worse...the driver might have left the scene w/o stopping.
I got rear ended by an illegal mexican in Oklahoma. Did not even have a license, just an electrician ID card. What could the police do? Tow his car and send him on his way. He could have been a convict for all I know, and he just walked away.

I disagree. I think an accident is when a coffee cup slips out of your hand and falls to the ground. When a driver fails to look behind him before backing up he is STUPID and irresponsible, and it is not an "accident". I think we use that word too freely and as an excuse for our own shortcomings.
Just because a parking lot is private property doesn't mean laws don't apply. I got a speeding ticket at the mall once. The cop said something about public use makes it like being on the street.
I wouldn't take the parking lot rage replies on here too seriously. This is an internet forum after all and I think most people wouldn't do what they say the would do here. Reminds me of the old joke:
Two young guys get pulled over by a cop. The driver is a bit smart mouthed so the cop smacks him in the face. Then he walks over to the passenger and smacks him in the face. The passenger says, "Hey, what did you do that for?". The cop says," I'm just making your wish come true". The passenger says,"What do you mean?". The replies,"after I leave you're going to tell your buddy here, I wish that cop had tried that **** with me!".
Same happened to me about 25 years ago while driving my 1972 Corvette.
Lady in the bank drive through lane decided the line wasn't moving fast enough - so she put her car in reverse and slammed into my 72's sharply pointed front end with the useless thin front bumper.
I was looking straight ahead at the time and I swear she never looked in her rear view mirror.
Didn't even have time to sound the horn it happened so fast.
Funny thing was, there was a city cop standing in the bank parking lot near my car (looking it over) as it happened.
Do not accept anything less than an as new show room looking bumper.
Well last friday I was leaving the parking lot of the office to register my truck and I was stopped behind a minivan from OK at a stop sign and the guy decides he does no want to exit. He puts the van in reverse and immediately backs up. Pic tells the rest of the story. What a sick feeling....And the guy has the nerve to tell me I was rude.....
Sorry to see this damage and share your feeling. I know how I am going to feel when I get my first scratch or rock chip no less what I see in your picture.
I am new to our Corvette world. I purchased my O4-/-C5 last July and had some time to run thru the gears before putting it up for the winter. I LOVE THIS CAR !
I have a question:
Due to my driving habits and the desire of this car I usually see traffic rapidly fade away in my rear view mirror. However, there are times when I choose to ,Sunday drive, and enjoy the scenery.
During these times I find that someone is always on my rear bumper attempting to force me to run faster or looking for a chance to pass.
I even have had a couple beep their horn at me. This does not seem to be the case when I am in my daily driver.
Is this just my imagination or are there "demons" out there?
Had the same thing happen to my 94 in a parking lot a woman backed out of a parking spot continued to backup into another parking spot and into the front of my Vette with no other cars around for at least 10 spots. My son was in the Vette and he said she started to drive off and saw him getting out and stopped.
My wife worries that I carry a 1911-A1 and what I will do if some IDIOT runs into my Vette. And he thought you had a bad attitude.
