i put a B&M on mine and it works just fine. you might look at the c6 factory shifter. i did the anti venom shift mod and started having problems with the B&M. i jacked with it for about 6 months tuning and readjusting over and over and never got it to work. when i removed the AV mod it went back to 100%. anything is better than the factory C5 shifter.

Dave...You'll get an assortment of answers from many owners on that question. My opinion is that the MGW shifter is the best currently on the market. Have a look at their web site and you'll see the top quality of the materials. I couldn't be happier with mine.

You'll never get a consensus, it's to subjective. Do what many owners do, buy one and switch it out every month until you find one you like.
I never had an issue with the oem C5/Z06 shifter except for the oddly shaped oem ****. So, I changed the ****, shortened the lever by 3/4" and added a 3/32" copper washer to the detent bolt just to be a little different.
I don't like noise and vibrations in a shifter. I finally opted for a B&M "Sport" shifter which is very similar to oem with the vibration dampening lever. It does have slightly shorter throws. It has no vibrations. It'll mount the oem **** or any after market ****. It works for me.

I really like my C6 Z06 shifter. But as mentioned above, ANYTHING is better than the stock shifter!!

I have a Hurst in mine and it was in the car when I got it. At first I didn't like it but after about a half hour I got used to it. No I love it! I don't know if the washer thing was done or not but it shifts pretty solidly and I can shift hard without worrying about missing a shift. It also has the huge shift ball which I also didn't like at first but now do. I can get a very solid grip on it without feeling like it is going to slip out of my hand. But again, just my personal preferance. Everybody is different.

You need to try some different options, though I have a Hurst and after 30k of driving with it would not trade it for another
