Default Wire mesh

I know some have bought the wire mesh from MCMaster Carr & used it add to thier front license plate area. Can this also be done in the front foglight cutouts or does the professinal one have to be used.

My advice for the fog light screens is to NOT make your own (and I'm a DIY guy). The reasons for that is, the homemade ones, or the cheapo knock-offs on eBay, are just screens with a plastic/rubber edging. The OEM ones have a full plastic housing that slides into the fog light opening, and besides looking much nicer, are much less likely to fall out or have other issues as home-made jobs... I bought OEM screens from Corvettes of Houston (2 years ago), but I know other vendors here carrry them also, and not sure who has currently the best price. For all the other screens to match the OEM Z06 screen material, Ken @ www.Vetteshop.cc has the best design/price/service, IMO.

That having been said, if you REALLY want to make your own, here's what you need:

Full specs from McMaster.com:

Material Type Stainless Steel
Stainless Steel Type Type 304
Shape Sheets
Form Woven Wire Cloth
Mesh Size Range Coarse Mesh
Mesh Size (Coarse) 5 x 5
Square/Rectangle Size .159"
Wire Diameter .041"
Percentage of Open Area Range 60 - 69
Percentage of Open Area 63.2

The way their website uses frames prevents me from linking directly to the item. But the part number for a 12" x 24" sheet is 85385T918.

Good luck!
