...ridiculous isn't it (cost of GYs compared to others)?
I have michelin rfs and they don't cost as much and have better performance..
...on a side note, plan to eventually go with non-rfs and get that cost per tire down even more...
It depends on how you define performance. The Goodyear's are rated for driving with no air pressure for up to 200 miles @ highway speeds and have the ability to be repaired after extended driving without air. The Michelins have only a 50 mile limit. I'd say in an emergency and driving in a remote area the better performing tire is obvious. It's all about needs and choices.

Goodyear has chosen to build their new World Headquarters right here in Northeastern Ohio while many manufacturers are running to Mexico and various foreign countries while many whine about our U.S.economy? I have to hang with Goodyear as I applaud their comittment
I've stayed with the OEM's and never perceived any noise issues although I don't have any other brands to compare to. Really, what I primarily hear in the Vette is ARH longtubes and Corsa Indys
Everyone is always bitching about jobs going overseas and then shop at Chinamart er.. Walmart to save a couple bucks.

Last year I replaced all four GY Runflats with four GY Runflats. I wouldn't consider any other tire. I don't race my Vette. I use it for cruising and these tires give me security. BTW, no other RF looks as good as the GY Runflats.
I'm going with Goodyear Eagle GS D3's..Will cost me $1030 mounted and balanced...Runcraps would've cost around $1600.. It's a weekend car...I'll now carry a plug kit and small compressor...Along with getting a 100% better ride!!
