My car has been in the rain many times, in fact I drove it in snow and on salty roads within hours after buying it. I know it won't melt - but why spend six hours of so detailing every inch of it to just take it out in the rain....seems pretty silly to me.

Same answer as if it were my Harley Davidson, only longer to clean up !

I actually drove mine in the mud 1 day after buying it. I spent the weekend at a friends cabin and the last 1/4 mile or so is a dirt and gravel road. It was a shame to see her all muddy but none of that mattered on the wonderful drive to and from the cabin.

The only drawback I can think of is it just makes it harder to get the car clean again. But, it can be done as mine has been in the rain a few times.

I love the subltle inference that those of us who don't drive in the rain don't enjoy our cars. My car is a garage queen, I admit it. Not all of us enjoy things in the same way. I assure you I enjoy every minute I'm polishing my car in the garage, smoking a good cigar, and listening to oldies.

Not saying at all that you don't enjoy your cars as much, and you are 100% correct that we enjoy our cars in different ways.

Mine gets driven daily in the sun, rain, mud, snow - and at the most gets a good wash once a week. It's often enough to keep it clean and presentable, but still give me maximum driving time.

I am all with you on the good cigar and oldies too, I just prefer to enjoy those while I am driving my full-size bronco... when it's actually running...
