I just talked to John at CCW on Monday. I'm getting a set of 18" & 19" CCW 505a's for my '99. Getting rid of my Y2000 chromed repos. I'm wondering what tricks or techniques everyone with the CCW wheels has to keep them shining and looking like new.... Any feedback is appreciated.
If you just keep after the wheels they will be fine. My best tip would be to keep them dry. I polish mine whenever I'm up for it because they look their very best after a fresh polishing. I use Adams #2 polish.
Keeping a coat of wax on them does help repel water and dust. They should send you some rejex when they ship you your wheels. I polish my wheels once a month in the summer since my car goes to alot of shows. Brake pads with low dust will cut down on time between needing polishing also.

I am a fan of Adam's polish!!! I agree with tjb05c6 with keeping a coat of wax on them. The wax WILL NOT polish them, just help keep the brake dust from hurting them. But ultimately what you choose to polish them with is up to you!!!!
Congrats on the new wheels, post up some pics!!!!!!!!!!
You're going to luv the CCW 505a's. Got mine last summer and smile every time I look at the car with them. I agree with keeping them DRY. Water spots are your enemy and don't just wipe off if they're allowed to dry- the spots must be polished out. I waxed mine and still they water spot. A little time drying them will save tons of polishing time if you don't!
Swap to ceramic brake pads to cut down on the dust, Rejex the wheels before you put them on, and keep them clean. If you drive in the rain try and keep some rags handy in your garage and wipe them down.

I have a set of 19/19 SP500's arriving tomorrow.
What do you guys suggest for polishing the wheels ? I have some Mothers Billet polish for my Corsa exhaust tips. Will that work best ?
My car is not driven in the rain, and honestly it has not been washed in 3 years . I just dust it off on the weekend. Hopefully I will not need to worry about water spots.
Adams #1 and #2 metal polish are hands down the best stuff I've ever used... and I've tried them all. It's a liquid and takes far less elbow grease than other brands and provides better results.

Sounds good, thanks !
You have to buy this stuff online only like Zaino right ? Adams sells the metal polish 1+2 for $40 as a combo. I have seen Adams at the hot rod shows here locally in the spring/summer. I don't think I can wait that long to polish my new wheels.

You are a prime candidate for zoops seal. How does not polishing them at all for a couple of years or so sound?
Just google zoops,it has saved my elbows
p.s. Do them before you ever mount them up!!!,it is a lot easier

Not polishing them for a year or so ? What fun is that ?
I asked some of my Harley buddies at work what type of polish they use on all that chrome. Their answer: MAAS Metal Polish. It's not cheep at ~ $13 bucks for a 4 oz tube plus shipping. But a little goes a long way. I never had compliments on my wheels until I started using the stuff. Google MAAS Metal Polish for their web site. I highly recommend the stuff

and also put some Rejex on them when you are done polishing. Keeping them out of the rain also helps..but if you ever do get stuck in the rain...just wipe them down as soon as you can and you'll be fine. It's like anything else, if you keep up with them, its not that bad. If mine get wet , I normally just wipe them down quick with detail spray and a micro towel until I can clean them again good.
I have a cabinet in my garage full of almost every metal polish out there. Along with the Mothers' ball for the polishing.
Here is my recommendation after 3 years of experimenting
1. Ceramic pads... much less dust
2. Adams 1 and 2 - amazing stuff - use the Mother's ball - big and small
3. Rejex - excellent and repelling water for LONG TIME
Use your leaf blower to dry - this blows all of the water out of the crevices. Otherwise you wipe and then drive 2 days later and water is coming out of places you didn't know existed.
I remove the wheels every 6 to 9 months and do a thorough polishing. It is almost impossible to do justice on the inside of the rims while on the car.. especially the front.
