I purchased this shifter from a forum member...he said it would fit C5 & C6 6sp corvettes...it just came in the original box with part #391 5086, that fits 2005-2006 vettes...in checking I find out part #391 5085 fits my 2004...is there any chance this shifter would work properly??...it seems that Hurst knows enough to properly sell shifters for specific applications, thus a difference in part numbers
The only difference should be the angled lever on the C6/Z06 model of the HURST shifter. That's to accommodate the C6/Z06 ergonomic ****.
Most of the after market shifters now all come with 9/16-18" threads and the side threaded hole for the ergonomic C6/Z06 *****.
Otherwise, all should interchange from '97 to '07 (and maybe '08).
If in doubt, contact HURST which is now part of B&M RACING.
talked to Hurst...a real lame tech person...from what I understand the only difference is the position of flat portion of the upper threaded handle...the c5 flat faces the front, the c6 faces the rear...if that is so, why does the c6 shifter cost $53 more than the same shifter in the c5 verson???????...something is not right...need your help

Papawana,
Install the shifter and you will fall in love. I used it with a Delrin shift ****, so I have no clue if a oem **** will fit it. But the shifter itself worked and fitted perfectly fine in my c5/z06 w/o a single issue.
