Definitely a lot of room for improvement....but everybody is out to earn a buck! or 2 or $85!

Don't get me wrong I love mine...but for a corvette....not the best grouped product...they could of easily have given us a non-gasous type of gel glue.

I have bought mine from LAPD and have had them on for over 5 years now without them falling off.

okay if you think that you can make them cheaper all the power to you but you forget the time to develop the bezel to make sure they fit right and the cost of the CNC machine or what ever machine is used to make them plus the cost of the alumimun. remember there is a lot of wasted alumimun when you make these bezels

I was looking at doing a for specialty items but the cost of the machine for the items I was think of making was $15000 give or take for few hundred.

To get a company to make them for me, they charged $1 per sq inch. plus a setup fee for every item since each item was unique.

to say that there is a $60 corvette tax would be wrong.

not too sure on that....if you check places out like Mid America and Ecklers you will notice that they have been dropping a lot of name brands on stuff and going to their "Generic Name" of the same item. When you get it...you get the typical "made in china" or indonesia or india. I have been noticing it on a lot of products that they sell. Keep in mind the cost of aluminum here in the states vs overseas. We sell the raw materials to them for half of what they charge us back for the finished products. Definitely not fair trade in my mind. But this is not my rant on this...its more on the fact of the cheapo glue that obviously does not work as people are reporting on.

Could just be the particular vendor too. Maybe LAPD makes theirs in the states thus the high overhead and if thats the case, maybe they give you good glue as well. This would be a perfect example of 2 identical products from 2 different vendors and ones quality is better then the others.
