I had a mishap a couple of weeks ago while crusing down the highway. A long story short I hit a board in the middle of the road at 80 mpnh . Well it took a chunk of paint off my bumper. So I needed a repaint and decided to shave the front emblem also. Here's the results:
Looks great! How involved is it to remove the bumper cover? I like to get mine repainted off the car.
It's not too bad of a job to remove the bumper. In all it took me about an hour to do (never taken off a bumper cover before) and I was suprised how easy it was to remove.
Did they blend out the areas that needed color then clear it all or simply respray it all? Reeason I ask is because this pait looks off in this picture:
I was an insurance adjuster for over 2 years and have very acute eye for this stuff... it was my job. I'd have them re-do it or blend the fenders/hood for color match.
I had the same thing happened and had the bumper repainted with no emblem. Then two days after repaint some idiot hit it while on the street and took out a 1.5 inch chunk of paint.
I'm glad I'm moving to a new place with a garage in two weeks.
Yours looks good though. I love the smooth look in the front without the emblem. I mean we all know it's a Corvette and for the ones who don't I don't think that emblem is going to help them. ("Corvette...Porshce...same thing")

I thought it was just me, but it looks completely different. The bumper does not seem to match the color of the hood and fenders at all. I wouldn't accept this if it were my car. Maybe it's the light or the camera angle, but not good from my view point. Sorry.

Sounds like everyone is getting into the shaved front end look.... I did mine last year when my ACI chin spoiler was installed just before Ocean City...
Years ago, and I do mean years ago, I remember doing it to my 57 Chev, everyone took their emblems/name plates off and the term was "shaved" as mentioned above.

I'm pretty sure its just the angle/ light of the pic. My camera isn't that great but it gets the job done.
