Help with exhaust question

Can anyone tell me if there is any difference in the stock exhaust tips supplied on 2001 and later models versus the 1997 -2000 models? It appears that tip extensions are typically available for 97-00 models only. What gives? Are they all the same or not?

I'm pretty sure they are different sizes and on the 04 the are eliptical!

They were not always the bright finish that you see today. I'm pretty sure that 97-99 were black.

The '97-00 exhaust tips were black from the factory. Beginning in '01, they put chrome tips on the exhaust. Most of the aftermarket exhaust tips are for the '97-00 models since the newer ones already had the chrome ones.

Thanks guys. Other than color or finish were they of identical dimension and oval shape? Is there an aftermarket tip that will add length to the existing tip and change it's shape from oval to round? ( That's what I'm trying to accomplish)

Corsa makes some pollished tips. I haven't used them, so I don't know how well they fit.

Got those tips about 3 years ago from Corvette Central. They slip right over the stock oval tips. A set of 4 were about $125dollors They are not perfectley round though. Stainless steel. They do stick out a little farther than stock. Part #325005,$139.00 now
