Default ALARM Ghost HELP!!!

I have a 99 frc with the factory alarm. I am using the factory fob the fob training recognizes the fob. The fob seems to work fine at first but all by it’s self it then opens arms and locks it’s self and then it will open its self and lock back again. Not sure if it’s the fob or the alarm. The fob quits working after it does this. Fob Battery???

Ideas????

Does your fob have the "passive" slide switch. If so, you may have a bad switch in the fob. I recall a thread a while back about taking the fob apart and cleaning the contacts on the switch. Worth a try!

I tried that and its still acting up.

Question: the little bell looking piece that’s at the top of the circuit board has a loose piece inside it and rattles when shaken. Is that normal? I only have one fob or I would check the other.

Yes, that is normal which is how the passive works. For the OP though, the passive mode is turned on in the FOB. It usually happens due to dust particles or the switch gets contaminated. Normally you can slide the switch back and forth a few times and it will clear up.

Nope still acting up. Could it be the alarm or a bad fob.
