Default Upgrading Brakes

I currently have stock C5 calipers/rotors and want to upgrade to C6Z51 rotors and C5 Z06 calipers.

Will i have any issues? There is a bracket that makes the C6Z51 rotors work on our cars and I will upgrade to new C5 Z06 calipers at the same time.

Thanks in advance.

Jeff

you don't need to change your calipers...they're the exact same thing.

unless you're just looking for the red color, but you can always DIY and save some money.

no issues, just make sure you have an 18" wheel up front.

Like jdmvette said, the C5Z06 calipers are the SAME as your stock calipers. The only difference is they are red. Save your money.

What are your goals? Is this a spirited street performer, or do you plan on tracking the car? I'm a spirited driver, so I put in some Powerslot rotors, Hawk HPS pads and SS brake lines. It brakes very very well for anything I would need on the street. My ABS does not activate even on the hardest braking so I know its working pretty good.

A stickier tire will also improve your braking if you find your wheels locking/ABS engaging. Braking is only as good as your tires. Brakes can only stop the wheel if the tire is making full contact, i.e, not skidding or ABS engaging.

If you are looking for a track type setup, look into a Stoptech/Baer or Wilwood big brake kit. That will be a completely different brake setup.

For me, the changes I made were all the improvement I needed.

direct bolt-on - C6 z51 caliper brackets, C6 Z51 rotors & your choice of C5, C5 Z06 or C6 calipers (all the same, just different color & font).

You've got 18" front wheels, Right?

corvette pilot will powder coat your existing calibers for about $200 and replace all your seals for a whole lot less than buying new ones. here is his website:
