OK, so I stop by Starbucks this morning on the way to work, park, turn off the car, open the door, and the radio stay on for about 30 seconds. Also notice that when I come back from getting my morning drug addiction, all the interior lights are off (a good thing) EXCEPT the radio buttons which were all illuminated nicely (a bad thing). So I try to check the codes, and when RADIO flashes us, it says "LOST COMM.", which I assume means lost communications.
Now its parked in the parking lot at work with the radio buttons glowing nice a bright -- wonder how long my battery will last .
Anyone else had this problem? Is the head unit going (gone?), or is there a bigger problem with the communication loop? Would disconnecting the battery "reset" the system? Any other ideas?
I would at least try to disconnect the battery and see if that resets the system. If all else, you will save the battery charge and keep it above 12.0 Volts. Last week, I had everything go to "no comm", found out that it was the jet performance PCM that was causing the trouble and the car would not start. Put the car back to stock by removing the jet PCM and it was fixed.
