I recently had my car up to work on the fuel pump, and while I was under there I found the source of my terrible sounding exhaust. It appears the entire cat-back has really started to rust up. The small "H-Pipes" that connect the two exhaust tips (after the muffler) have rusted through. However, from the cats forward, everything seems to be in good shape. Is our exhaust system Stainless from the cats forward, but not the cats back?
Needless to say, I'm now in the market for a new cat-back system. Any recommendations?
Pretty sure the cats aren't stainless either, because mine have a good layer of rust on them The underside of my car just isn't pretty. I've given up trying to make it otherwise.
As far as catback recommendations, there are 9,000,000,000 posts about them that you can search through.
Some popular ones are:
B&B Bullets
Borla Stingers
Tigershark Corsa
Z06 Ti's
Buy the exhaust you want for the sound/look (perhaps weight), not the "performance claims"... because there isn't much gain really.
