Pricing - C5 base vs C5 Z06, 2000 vs 2001
I have been looking at various C5. I am hoping to get a 1999/2000/2001 C5 for around $20k. However, if I run across one that is late model year plus low mileage one, I may go for it. So my questions:
1) Given the same condition/mileage and year, how much (% or $$ value) is the difference between a C5 coupe base versus a C5 Z06?
2) What is the approximate price in % terms difference between a 15,000 mile one and one with 40,000 miles?
3) How much price differential should I account for between a 2000 model year and a 2004 one?

Well the Z06 started in 2001. So you won't be getting an earlier Z then that. If you like the hard top body style of the Z you can consider 1999/2000 FRC's too. The 01 Z's though have less power then the 02-04 so many people try to get an 02, meaning you might be able to find a 01 at a good price. But still more then a base model. If a Z06 isn't an important factor then just make sure you get a Z51 with the 3.15 gears and you should be happy enough.
I got my 99 Z51 couple last year with 48K miles for 18,500. You should be able to find a 99-01 for about 20,000 no problem. An 01 Z06 might be up to a couple more grand depending on miles and condition.
best of luck
