Default Problem/Advice: Service ABS/Traction control

I had the car out a few times this week because winter is beginning to clear. Yesterday I started it up, and immediately it gave ABS/Traction warning on the DIC. I took it over to the local garage, and the guy plugged in a diagnostic computer, and it said a relay was closed. He cleared the code, and suggested I drive around a bit. So I went for coffee (with the warning still showing), and after the coffee stop it cleared up. By the way, last summer is did the same thing once and mysteriously cleared. So it seems very intermittent. I put on a 100 miles yesterday with no problem. The traction control works when I stomp on it. The car has 40,000 miles, and I don't beat it.
Any suggestions/comments/experiences?

Sounds like a grounding problem. Check the black box right behind the passenger side pneumatic hood arm. It's attached to the frame rail and is identified by all the black wires going into it. That is where the ground attaches. You may need to remove the box and carefully open...clean all contacts and reattach.

If that fails you may be best to put loops on ends of the wires and drill/attach direcly to the frame without using that box.
