No real special tools. Just a ratchet, 5/8 spark plug socket and a stubby extention and universal joint can come in handy for #7 & 8.
Just be careful pulling off the boots, they can be a PITA to get off. I broke one when removing, so I just bought new wires. Twist them before pulling, it brakes them free a little bit. I bought MSD 8.5 wires from the parts for sale section, but probably would have just got the GMPP red wires. Before installing the wires again, put a dab of dielectric compond on the plug.
Yup your right just the normal tools C5's are very easy cars to do plugs and wires on. Be glad its not an f-body now those suck to do plugs and wires on. Noooo thank you!
One BIG factor,do it on a COLD motor,,plugs an car at room temp. Some one posted he liked to have the motor slightly warmed up.That would have the aluminum expanded and would be like a press fit when it cooled down. A safe way is to install all finger tight, wait a few, then go back and tighten. My 2 cents worth. Could save future stripped threads.

and add a little anti-seize to the plug threads for easy removal next time
