Had the front wheel off today to install fender screens, the bolt on top of the spring keeps staring at me and wont leave me alone. I know it wants me to turn it but I'm unsure which way. Could someone help as its starting to call out my name now.
If you are looking at the front bolts, turn it (counter clockwise). You are actually screwing the bushing in closer to the bottom of the upper control arm. The rear bolts: Loosen the top nut until you have 3-5 treads showing.

Just do it! It looks great and you will scrape WAY COOL, like me!

Just remember to jack up the spring itself so the bushing can turn without the weight of the Vette on it.

Question, should the front bolts be turned an equal amount of times, or should they be turned until they are full backed out? I lowered mine and the driver side turned 3 and 1/2 turns, the passenger side turned more than that but I matched turns with the driver sides for conformity. I have measured to the fender edge and both are equal. It just doesn't make sense to me that some people remove the bolts or cut bushings but mine are unequally turned and each side still have the same height to the fender as each other.

The only true and correct way to do this is by having the wheels each on a certified scale and balancing the weight while you have someone sit in the car. But thats usually only done for racing or track cars. Most folks just run the adjusters in until they stop on the front, and back the rears out of the nuts until there are about 3 threads showing.
Thanks for all the information, NOW I dont have any choice I have to lower as she was getting down to name calling last night, there way was need of that but I know how strong she feels about it now and she always always wins.

Left side is done, alot easier than I thought thanks to all the help on this forum, put the left side fender screen on so I had to pull the wheel anyway, the left rear is sitting 3/4" lower and front 1/2" and I havent even moved the car. dropped both to the stops and backed off 1/4 turn as suggested. Not going to drive until it stops snowing that is if it ever does, been a long long winter. Thanks for all the help, mayby she will let me sleep tonight.
I really want to lower mine as well. The only thing I am still wondering about is if an alignment is needed. If I do each side the same number of turns from where the factory put them it shouldn’t need one??? I just hate taking my car anywhere to have anything done. I can't trust anyone!!

Get an alignment. It does take a while to fully settle. Mine continued to settle over two weeks of varied driving manners.
Chances are your car could use one with or without lowering it. The price of prematurely replacing expensive tires justifies it.
