That's why I also carry a 12v compressor with sealant, and a tire plug kit. but I'll only use those in an emergency.

Years ago, on the way home from a desert trip, I temporarily sealed a small hole with a SHEET METAL SCREW.

Tire was about 1/2 flat, and I was able to find the leak. (this was on a pu truck) Just screwed it in and over inflated the tire a bit.

It got us all the way home -about 100 miles.
