Default Wheel decals. Can you remove them?

The previous owner put some decals or tape on the polished aluminum wheels. From a distance it looks like the word "CORVETTE" is engraved in red in one of the spokes. But up close it's obvious that it isn't. It appears to be a clear tape with the "CORVETTE" in red type.

My question is: Can this tape be removed and will it leave an obvious mark on the spoke that it's on? I'm wondering if the spoke will be a lot shinier in that retangular area where the tape has been living. If so, it might be wiser just to leave it on and not worry about it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Michael

All depends on what kind of tape and how long it has been there. Unfortunately there is no way of knowing without actually removing it.

Epoxy Paint Remover works like magic, just paint it on and a few minutes later wipe the logos off. They literally melt and it doesn't bother the finish on the wheel.

Take a hairdryer and warm them up and they should peel off!

GM's "Tar & Oil Remover" is excellent for removing glue and not hurting painted surface as well.

Any of the above ideas will work. And I think the wheels will look way better without. Good luck.

If it is just tape, try heating it up with a hair dryer and then gently use your fingernail to lift the decal off.
