Default ANOTHER Tire post

OK, I didn't seem to find what I was looking for in the last post.

I understand that there are many differing opinions, but I am trying to select new tires for my '99 FRC. I am planning on buying new wheels also.

I am thinking of going with 19s all around, but I am open to suggestions, pros, cons, etc.
I do not want runflats.
I do not race. (well, you know)
I live in the mountains, so have a lot of long winding roads.
I also have a long, straight freeway ride when I go out of town. (NorCal-ers, you know, Highway 5)
I will buy separate winter tires for my stock wagon wheels.
I want a quiet tire.
I want as nice a ride as possible.
I want a low profile tire.
I want as wide a tire as possible without possible rubbing.

With all these "wants" (I know....ME ME ME!), can someone help move me in the right direction. I know there is give and take on all these things.

I will also need to know the proper wheel width for the tires and what the offset should be.

Thanks in advance for all your help and suggestions!

JP

I cannot tell how they run yet, because they are not on the car...
But I just bought Ruff Racing 281's in chrome, 18 front, 19 rear.
Tires: Kumho SPT U31's, 245X40X18, 285X35X19
They look fabulous, and they're not on the car yet! (BTW-I have a 99 FRC also)
I bought the entire package from VQ motoring (forum vendor)(tlak to Rickie) for what I think was an excellent package price.
You can see'em if you search "Ruff RAcing", lots of memebers have them, and there's lotsa pics!

I have OZ Superleggera wheels; 19x11 65mm offset & 18x9.5 59mm offset. The tires are Michelin PS2's; 305/30/19 & 265/35/18. The wheels are hub concentric, and were match mounted & balanced (max 1.0 oz wheel weight) with the Hunter GSP9700 road force balancer.
