I did a search and think i am still in limbo. Which after market shifter have you been happy with? I have seen the B&M and Hurst for around the same price of 199.00. I am leaning toward the hurst

^^A lot of people seem to be happy with the C6 Z06 shifter. Can get from GMPARTSWAREHOUSE, a forum supporting vendor.
I have this shifter in my car and like it very much. Previously, I had a stock and also a hurst shifter. The C6 Z06 shifter is way better than either.
i have the c6zo6 and i think the throw is still a bit long. I have been told that the newest gen of the b & m is great if you like short precise shifting
My dad and I stopped by a dealer in AZ to get the oil changed and Reece Callaway showed up with his latest supercharged C6 and callaway shifter. Both my dad and I were able to test drive the car. It was amazing and we are going to buy the shifter. The car had Dynamag wheels, callaway suspension, brakes, and a MagnaCharger putting out 585hp to the rear wheels. The shifter throw was very short and positive.
MGW is gaining popularity. I have tried it on Kevins (WKMCD) beast and I like it better than the Hurst and B&M...Very nice shifter.
Do a search in the C6 section and you will find lots of info...
Peace

with Chip. The MGW shifter is precise and smooth. I have had it for about a month now and hadn't realized what a good shifter felt like until I installed this one. Try it, you'll like it !!!
This is very subjective. You'll never get a consensus of "what shifter is best?" It's been asked hundreds (thousands?) of times in past discussions and you probably won't get any new revelations this time.
In C5 Tech, click on search this forum (in the red banner) and enter keywords of whatever shifter you've ever heard of or are considering (HURST, B&M "Ripper", B&M "Sport", KIRBAN, BREATHLESS PERFORMANCE, CALLAWAY, MTI, C6/Z06, MGW, etc).
You can find good used deals on many popular shifters in the CF classifieds for less than $199...

100% I put the callaway in about 6 mos ago...love it!
I have a Hurst in my hand since 1965, and have one in my '03. I love this one and cannot say anything bad about it, but I drove my friend's car with a MGW, and all I can say is WOW!

I've had stock, B&M, C6 and now the MGW. MGW is by far the best shifter I've had. Firm and precise without being too much effort. The gears positively engage without being notchy.

MGW all the way!
so how much does this puppie cost and where are the best places to find it?
I installed an MGW 35 which they no longer offer. 30% is the option that they offer which relates to the % of the shorter throw. Superior to the standard shifter, but takes some muscle to manuver into 4th or 5th gear. The tranny is the same as in my former 05 Viper, and they are not high tech. My friend has an 01 Porsche 911 awd and I can eat him alive, but his shifts/tranny is much more smooth.

The % shorter throw is based on the C6 shifter which has considerably shorter throw already than the C5 shifter. The shaft has a very long threaded area and you can gain some additionaly leverage by only screwing the knobdown part way. It has a set screw. Someone also contacted George at MGW and he provided a longer shafter to make shifting easier. That being said, I don't find my shifter too stiff at all.
