I didn't read the whole ebay write-up ... but some interesting pictures. Guess he made his own Z06 the hard way. What was the real reason for the total restoration?
Would seem to be mixing VIN's -- How is it possible to have a clear title? Which vehicle was used to determine the milage? Yet the pictures were interesting, but seems to be a lot of work.
It sounds like it was rebuilt and pieced together from several different cars.
GM shows the last repair under that vin. 09/19/2005 AT 105938.miles.
There’s way to many perfect C5’s out there to mess with restoring one, this is just crazy.
You could buy a low mileage virgin for the buy it now price he posted.
It said it has a "TARGE ROOF"? I am guessing he meant a Targa roof but I don't see any pics or even seams in the roof. It looks like they did a first class job but if I was going to do an expensive project like this I'd do a convertible or a Targa roof and make something unique.
I think the "targe roof" is a standard option that ebay lists because below in the description it says does not have a targa roof, has a hardtop instead. Apprantly it was changed to be just like a Z.
This guy is not too far from me in metro detroit, maybe an hour and half drive. If I ever plan on getting that way I might stop and ask to see the car.
I remember seeing a Z06 rolling chassis up for sale on ebay over a year ago, I wonder if this is it.
I definitely wouldn't buy this car. The seller can give all the praise for how good a car it is, but when it comes down to it. it's selling "as is." And even if the buyer is convinced at how good a car it is, wait till that person trys to resell it in another few years.
