I got a NEW/USED Black Top Vert top installed the other day and I have noticed that the top has some marks on it, they look like scratch marks, or rub marks... Thats the best way I know to describe them. They are just a little different color back than the rest of the top.
Does anyone know of a way to get these out or to cover these marks up.? Is there any product or tips that you might have to fix this?
Thanks so much for any help you might have, I am really not sure what to do at this point!!!!
I have heard about ragg topp but have not tried it yet... These marks are not from folding, I dont think, just because of the areas that they are in,,, They look like scratches almost... there are quite a few of them above the driver side window... Thanks for the comments so far..
Anyone had any luck with a fix for this problem ??

If I was you, I would immediately go to where you had it installed and talk to them regarding getting a defective top. If its brand new then it sould look brand new when you paid for it.
I've got a light oak top and it also has what I call "scuff" marks that seem to be caused by folding the top. The car has had them from when it was delivered. I think it's the nature of the material (canvass) that is used (like the way jeans wear). Given that, accept the marks as a badge of seniority for your car. After all, as much as we'd like them the stay new forever, they actually age whether we like it or not but the best we can do is help them age gracefully.

I know what your talking about on the light oak tops but on the black ones there shouldn't be a change in the color of the cloth. My last C5 had the top replaced and it had the scuff or creases in it from the folding of the top from delivery but not scuff marks that didn't come out.
There was one crease that looked like a wrinkle but slowly came out over time.
The top was new to me but used... It did not have any tears or anything in it and I thought that I could get these marks out, but so far thats has not been the case... I was just woundering if any one else has had this problem and if anyone might have a fix for it... Like I said it really does look like scuff marks and not creases in the top or cause by folding..
