I just bought mine for 28K purchase price but after tax's texas, 1750, registration and title app fees 99.5, and an 3/45 bumper to bumper warranty for 1829 it was a mere 31.9 k out the door. Those numbers are way off. My bnak would only loan 31.6 k. So those are off.
Just thought I would chime in, planning on spending more time on this forum.
I have not received my copy of the mag yet, so I have not read the article, but I agree they look a little on the high end. I ran a Kelly Blue Book as well as an NADA on my 01 6speed coupe. Kelly listed it at just over $27K and NADA ha it at $28K. Mine is extremely clean with 28K miles. So 28K is probably top dollar, not the $32K they are showing. Again the prices I came up with are retail.
A week ago Saturday I bought an 01 coupe. Mag red 6-speed. Glass targa top. Z51 suspension. Corsa exhaust and polished aluminum wheels. 22K miles. Not a scratch on it. Asking price: $27K. Bought it for $25K. Added the GMPP for an additional $1,600. So, yes. $32K is about $7K to $8K more than what they're selling for.

Looks like Corvette magazine needs to do a little more research, than
pulling out numbers out of their wazoo.
I mean those figures aren't even in the ballpark.Stick to taking
pictures and quoting factual info guys, and leave the appraisal
task to people who know.
fwiw I paid 28k for my commemorative coupe... from a dealer... after it sat on the lot a LONG time... more than a year ago.
yeah right.
Methinks you all 'condition' your vette too highly.
1999 roadster, needs tlc or average, 21 to 17k. Sounds right for my car. Are you saying it's only worth 7 to 11k? Like I said, yeah, right.

I'm surprised at all the negative reaction on the Value Report from Corvette Magazine. Remember, the heading on the chart does say: "Approximate Value".
Also, are you going to tell me that if you had your Vette up for sale, that you wouldn't show the potential buyer what a "specialized authority" has to say about values?
Depending on the condition of your car, also depends on the final price. Plus, the C-5 is one of more desirable automobile designs that Corvette has ever produced. Maybe, they figured that into the mix, too.
If you all feel that negative about your C-5, then you need to find something else to make you positive!

04s are 10k high, for sure.
I think reality is somewhere between the lowest and second lowest values on the chart.
This is an actual ad for one of the Canadian vettes.... I can say that vettes cost more here but this guy is hopeful. I would like to know what he reduced it from...
2001 CHEVROLET CORVETTE CONV, 24000 km, yellow ext, extra ext'd GM warr, fully loaded, mint cond, reduced to, $50000 obo.
One thing to remember on these car prices is ALL of you guys are Corvette Guys and know what you would or wouldn't pay for a car but ALOT of Corvettes are sold thru Dealers to people that arent really Corvette People and all they know is these cars stickered for 50K not that long ago and they can buy them for 20K less and think they are getting a buy, Im sure they get their numbers from Sales records mostly Dealers....So Not all of these numbers are BS
