Hey guys. Been busy lately. Finally got the vette back and took it for a tune. Put out 438rwhp and 386rwtq. Lower than what I was expecting but car is just insane fast. Anyways the clutch pedal sticks, only after a high rpm run. Second gear it really doesn't do it but when keeping in it into 3rd gear and go over 5500rpms the clutch pedal will stick to the floor. The clutch stays engaged. I then lift the pedal off the floor with my foot. Pedal comes right back up. I then push it right back down and everything works just fine. The fluid is clear and just put in new fluid. There is no clutch smell whatsoever and the clutch doesn't slip at all. I can normal drive the car and slip the clutch right after this happens and no problems. What do you guys think is causing this??? Possible slave cylinder going bad??? Thanks
Probaby the slave,I just up graded to a ls7 clutch and when they pulled my old clutch out my slave was toast. but befor I upgraded I took the spring off the clutch pedal and that kept it from sticking to the floor.

that is what I am thinking, the slave. I will try taking that spring off and see what happens.

I don't know what it is exactly, I just know that every time I go to the track, almost every C5Z driver has the exact same problem, and we're all out there changing fluid between runs. It always seems to happen after extended high RPM runs. It never happens any other time, and I have no clutch issues during normal driving.
There are posts all over the forum about this problem and a number of supposed fixes, most of which involve a process of changing fluid mulptiple times. I've tried this, and it hasn't solved the problem. The only person I know that eliminated the problem changed to a SPEC Stage II clutch. No more sticking to the floor. I've simply learned along with heel and toe to pick the clutch off the floor after downshifting. (until I decide which new clutch to buy)
Other than the chatter, my Textralia OZ700 has been fantastic - I haven't had the chance to run 4th WOT to redline but from the way it feels in third I think my sticking issues are gone...
Aftermarket clutch seems to be the only way to eliminate this problem. Stock Z HP levels are about the limit of the factory clutch's ability to cope. Even then, sometimes not. Mine seemed fine (after H/C), until I added the ported FAST setup. Then, it never worked at high RPMs.
I am having the same issues with the clutch at high rpms, plus some clutch smell. How much did you guys pay for the Tex 0Z clutch, since i am thinking of upgrading soon.

you can get it from forum vendors for under $1k with a steel flywheel. Installation prices are going to depend on what mods you already have on the car, what other work you are going to get done at the same time, and the region you live in.
The whole thing for me (including master/slave and a bunch of torque tube work) ran right at $3k out the door...
