I have a vibration that is very consistent (harmonic) in my 98 C5 at all speeds 60+. I Shifted into neutral and still have vibration. I r an rpms up to 2000 in park, no vibration. What could this be? u-joints maybe?
If you still have the vibration with the car in neutral, then it is not related to engine RPM. My guess is that it is probably a tire. I would have the tire balancing checked before I started replacing anything.
I am thinking that bad u-joints would show up as more of a clunk when loading/unloading the drivetrain, and not just a vibration.
I accidentaly knocked one of the balancing weights off my wheel once when re-mounting it. Apparently it was a large weight because i felt the vibration at 30mph+
